Retrieve a list of the Units available for a given provision instance

Overview

For Tax Provision Administrators, and tax accounting managers in large multinational corporations and accounting firms, the Tax Provision Units API offers an efficient solution to obtain a full list of the units available within a given instance of ONESOURCE Tax Provision. This can be extremely useful when needing to retrieve a summary list of all units quickly for reporting or administration purposes. This information can also be used in conjunction with the Subconsolidations API, in order to add units to a Subconsolidation.

The information returned for each unit includes assigned Country, Currency, and whether the unit is Domestic or Foreign.

Using the ONESOURCE Tax Provision Units Management API

1. 1Judy is a new ONESOURCE Tax Provision Administrator for her company, and she needs to know which Units have been assigned to the ONESOURCE Tax Provision instance. She is particularly interested in whether the units have been associated, both with the correct country and corresponding currency.
2. 2In the past, she has performed this activity by:
   • Exporting various datasets to view the Units assigned to each or
   • viewing the Units for each instance within the Administration section.
3. 3Judy has just learned that her IT department has created a new utility tool that utilizes the Units API.
4. 4Judy decides to retrieve a list of the Units assigned to her instances, using the new utility, and is pleasantly surprised with how easily and up to speed she can complete this task. She doesn’t need to log into the ONESOURCE Tax Provision software and manually check the lists.
